What exactly is the cold-process method of making soap?
Cold-process soapmaking is a traditional way of making soap where oils + butters are slowly blended together with an alkali *(lye water). When these ingredients are combined accurately, at just the right temperature, the result is pure soap bliss.
*Lye is used to saponify the oils into soap. None remains in the final product.
How do I make my bar of soap last longer?
Handmade soap will last much longer if kept dry between uses. To extend the life of your soap, use a draining soap dish and keep it away from direct streams of water.
Are your soaps tested on animals?
No way! We love animals!
How long does a bar of Faded Plains Soap last?
When used in the shower, on average a bar lasts around 2 weeks. To extend the life of your soap, keep it out of direct contact with water and let it dry out between uses.
Do you use any artificial ingredients?
No way! There's no synthetic fragrances, dyes, sulfates or parabens to name a few. Just wholesome, botanical based oils + butters and scented using only natural essential oils.
Can I use your products if I'm pregnant?
We use high quality oils + butters in our soaps. However, we do use essential oils in many of our products, and some of these essential oils are not recommended for use while pregnant. We recommend consulting with your healthcare provider prior to use.
*We do now carry an unscented soap (Nue Cube Soap) that's made with only skin loving oils + butters.
